Our Wednesday, February 7th, lunch time adventure involved a tour of the Meru Kaaga Elementary School. Here teachers were doing an outstanding job in truly adverse circumstances. Most classroom floors were dirt. Mortar on the walls was disintegrating allowing snakes and other critters to enter. Windows were usually bars only. If there was glass, it was often cracked, partially or wholly broken out. Plastic bags from dry cleaner shops was put over the spaces to cut the cold wind. How the teachers remain dedicated, dressing professionally, was a tribute to their characters.
